Easy Digital Downloads Commissions Addon 3.6.4
Wordpress Plugins Easy Digital Downloads 4.8 (2.0K reviews)
The Easy Digital Downloads Commissions Addon is an extension for the Easy Digital Downloads platform, built to handle commission tracking for stores that work with affiliates or multiple contributors. It is designed for stores that already know who their referrers are and need a systematic way to record what they have earned. When a sale is completed through your store, the addon automatically records which user or partner is entitled to a commission. That data is stored directly within your WordPress dashboard, so you can see exactly what was sold, who referred it, and what amount was earned. This removes the need to track those figures manually in spreadsheets or guess at payouts. The addon is distributed as a standard .zip file, just like any other EDD extension, and it installs directly into your existing Easy Digital Downloads setup. It doesn't replace your current sales workflow; it simply adds a layer of commission record-keeping on top of it.
The core function is straightforward. Every time a sale goes through, the addon captures the relevant commission information and links it to the specific user who should receive credit. You can then view a list of all recorded commissions in your admin area, sorted by date, user, or product. That makes it easy to review activity before processing payments to your affiliates. The addon does not create its own payment system nor does it handle actual payouts. It focuses purely on tracking and reporting the numbers behind your commission structure. For store owners who have relied on manual bookkeeping or third-party systems that don't integrate cleanly with EDD, this addon offers a direct way to keep those records inside the same ecosystem where your sales already live. It is a practical addition rather than a sweeping overhaul of your store. The value comes from having reliable records without extra steps.

One of the notable functions is the ability to generate a CSV file of all commission records. This export feature gives you a plain and portable format for your data, which can be opened in any spreadsheet application. You do not need to configure anything special to generate the file; the option is available right where the commissions are listed. You can then use that file for accounting, for sharing with a bookkeeper, or for importing into other tools you already use. The CSV includes the essential fields you would expect from a commission log, such as sale date, customer, referring user, and commission amount. Because the file is generated directly from the recorded data in your store, there is no need to retype anything or reconcile multiple sources by hand. This export option is especially helpful at the end of a pay period, when you need a clean summary of what each person has earned without clicking through dozens of individual orders.
This addon works only as an extension to Easy Digital Downloads, so you need to have EDD already installed and active on your WordPress site. It does not function as a standalone application. The installation goes through the normal WordPress plugin process after you upload the downloaded .zip file. Once activated, the new commission tracking tools appear in your dashboard and integrate with the sales data that EDD already collects. It does not add extra steps to the checkout process, and it does not change the experience for your buyers. There is no separate user training required beyond learning where the commission records are stored. For anyone running a store where multiple people refer sales or where you have a formal affiliate arrangement, this addon gives you a clear view of what is owed to whom. It is a focused tool that addresses one particular need: keeping an accurate, reviewable record of commissions.
